August 2009 v August 2010

Wednesday, September 01, 2010

Wow ... what a difference between August 2010 August 2009.

This time last year I wasn't really active on Sparkpeople at all. I would every now and again log in, spin the wheel, read the occasional email and that was about it. It's a pity I wasn't more involved then like I am now.

My leaderboard points really show a huge difference and reflect my involvement too:

August 2009 - points were 28 and board position was 131,818
August 2010 - points were 2837 and board position was 557

My fitness points would be sooooo much higher if I'd logged them last year - there are at least 180 hours worth, not to mention all the other points I could have earned.

I'd love to place within the top 1000 for this month emoticon

I know what you mean about looking back and seeing a difference... I was doing the same just yesterday, but I was looking back 15 years: the day I told my now-ex-husband I was taking the kids and moving out, and he was on his own. Hands down, one of the worst/best days of my life! It marked a major milestone in my life, and the beginning of a full-blown happiness I'd never known.

In a similar way, I look at my life as Spark vs pre-Spark. Having these resources has given me support and guidance, helping me to develop self-awareness, mental clarity and a true steadiness of spirit! Doing the Sparkpoint list gave me a guideline to follow when I was first learning about Spark; now I "do the points" because I like the completeness of the daily experience.
Have fun with it! emoticon emoticon
