Web Developers...What has your experience been like working with them?

Hi, everyone. I've been working with a developer that in my opinion does unsatisfactory work. However, it seems like this is the general consensus. So, I would love to hear about your experience with working with a web developer. Thanks, guys!

I have found a number of designers that have a nice portfolio and seem to be reasonably priced, but apparently they have plenty of business and won't even respond to emails. I have wasted a chunk of cash on 2 different individuals that sucked. My opinion is that you get what you pay for and sadly, my budget won't stretch enough to pay for someone that doesn't suck. Hope you have better luck!
