I'm trying to stay motivated

Thursday, February 03, 2011

I had a disappointing week last week. Didn't workout but I didn't overeat either. So this week I'm just moving forward and thinking positive. I realize how I failed last week and I haven't beaten myself up about it. I did start going back to Yoga this week and I joined a new program at the gym at work.

I feel good about making small changes that will make me feel good overall. I also finally decided that I do want to give up soda. It makes me feel lousy.

It can be really hard to stay motivated in the winter but it looks like you are doing a great job. I gave up soda in the summer and it wasn't easy! Now I allow myself to have it on a rare occasion but I find that I don't like it as much anymore. Once you get used to NOT drinking it, then when you do have it you may feel like it's REALLY sweet and you might not want it. That's what is happening to me.

Coffee though.. I quit that for 2 years and then went back and although I've cut back I don't plan to quit. :-)

And don't forget that it takes the scale about 2 weeks to catch up. So even if you think you had a good week, your scale might not think so until two weeks later.... so keep up the good work with the positive attitude and move forward... as they say, the past is the past, and you can't do much to change that. The bigger question is, what are you doing to do tomorrow????

Yeah on giving up soda...it was hard for me too, and you may have a little withdrawal but it is so worth. We all have our vices, mine is coffee, lol

As long as you learn from the past, you are making a good start! Hang in there. Pretty soon you'll want to feel better and will be willing to work at it all the time. Keep it up!
