Coconut Oil helps my brain..

Wednesday, February 23, 2011

Yes, it's true, I'm on another tangent. I had bought a book "The Coconut Oil Miracle" by Bruce Fife and I got some coconut oil a couple of years ago but having to melt it before taking it put me off so I switched to Olive Oil which many seem to think is more acceptable. Of course if I had of known all the good health things, I'd have stuck with it. Like it helps keep you from getting Alzheimer's (runs in my mom's side of the family and my brother has dementia at 63) My brother has been having memory problems since 2002 and was no longer able to work by 2004. He's a smart guy. His job was with the USPS, repairing the mail processing machines. He did excellent with his finances and so it's a shame that one who prepared for retirement so well doesn't function much anymore.
I have been reading up on Coconut oil since I ran acrossed a team of people who take it. I am amazed at how good it is for you and that MCFA's (medium chain fatty acids) raise your metabolism and help you lose weight. As you all know, money makes the world go around, so Coconut Oil got a bad rap from those promoting soy bean oil. Just as they crushed Cyclamates when they came out and removed it from the market.
From the info and testimonials that I've been reading, taking it could improve those in early Alzheimers. Now my brother has been sick for quite awhile but by hook or by crook I am going to smuggle in some coconut oil and mix it in with his yogurt or some other food. I would be delighted if it helps him to be more functional.
In reading about it I also found out that it gives you lots of energy. I has a natural anti-biotic in the form of MCFA's commonly found in coconut oil. I could go on but hopefully just the fact that it aids weight loss and raises the metabolism will peak your interest and cause you to go online and investigate for yourself. I ordered some and I'm going to stick with it.
The health benefits of coconut oil include hair care, skin care, stress relief, maintaining cholesterol levels, weight loss, increased immunity, proper digestion and metabolism, relief from kidney problems, heart diseases, high blood pressure, diabetes, HIV and cancer, dental care, and bone strength. These benefits of coconut oil can be attributed to the presence of lauric acid, capric acid and caprylic acid, and its properties such as antimicrobial, antioxidant, antifungal, antibacterial, soothing, etc.

I just bought a book called "Alzheimer's Disease - What If There Was a Cure?, by Mary T. Newport" It is about the amazing changes coconut oil does to the brain and bringing back Alzheimer's patients from their advanced state. Also there is another book I want called "Stop Alzheimer's Now! by Bruce Fife.

Also there are many videos on you-tube about the near miraculous changes coconut oil has made for Alzheimers patients. I think you would enjoy the books and the videos.

Hi, Just started taking it a few days ago after reading about all the benefits of eating it. I have already noticed it has helped with my digestion problems. Have also started giving some to my hubby to perk him up too. A Tblsp. in my morning oatmeal and don't even know that it is there. Looking forward to some weight loss with taking it.
    Cheers, Linda

Hey Bug, thanks for the blog...I found this to be really
interesting. David has been telling me it is good for you
    for a couple years.

For people with thyroid problems, they are not supposed to
use soy products anyway, so I had been using Olive oils to
    cook and put on salad.

The Canola we read up on and it is made from Rapeseed oil
and I know a lot of people think it is great, but they should
    research the background on it.

Are you taking this in a capsule? or mixing it in with food
    or how??????

    Blessings,
    Darl

I just bought some today to use in cooking. It was on sale, but still expensive compared to soybean or canola oil, which I don't use anymore.

Wow. I've heard it's good for you. But, your blog told me a lot of things I didn't know, BUGLET. I'd read about it recently, and, was gonna get some when my olive oil ran out.

But, maybe I won't wait. I tend to use oil for cooking more than other things anyways. And, coconut oil is supposed to be better when heated than other cooking oils (such as olive oil, canola oil, vegetable oil, etc.).

Wondering though, how does the price of coconut oil compare to canola oil or olive oil?
