Junk food blowot and bronchitis

Tuesday, March 08, 2011

So...I have lost my 100 pounds and now I have bronchitis. I can't workout and all I have been wanting is ice cream, pie, Chinese food...you get the picture. I have had a sugar and greasy food relapse and am really getting g down on myself for it. I did so well until I got sick, now anything I can get my hands on...I want to eat. I know my motivation is lagging because I can't go to the gym, but where this food relapse take me? Anyone have any suggestions for me because I am in need off support. I am desperate as of now! Thank you everyone!

Hey there - First off, let me congratulate you on your loss. I am only just beginning to chip away at my extra hundred pounds, so your weight loss is a huge accomplishment. But you were looking for some support during what sounds like bingeing. It seems normal that you would slip back into old behavior when needing some comfort and care. Being that I am so very new at this, I have come up with a couple of thoughts:
    1. Can you be taken care of by someone else for a little bit? A family member or good friend - just to tuck you in, rub your feet, hold you or take care of your family/animals/laundry? (sorry - don't know what or who you might have at home)

    2. I'm thinking that this might be a really good time for a change of pace. Depending on how sick you are, can you go for a drive? Can you go for a walk? (careful with bronchitis) Can you meditate for a little bit? Take a bath or shower with some new product? You get the idea - shake it up a little bit to change the scenery, get your mind off the old habits creeping in and actually pamper yourself in the process.

And one last thought - are you on antibiotics? If so, could this be a reaction to them? And if yes, won't you be off them soon?

Remember most of all to be kind to yourself. You know how to lose 100 pounds - you know how to take care of yourself. You are just slipping because you feel awful. Get some rest, listen to music... walk the dog????

Hang in there - I'll check on you tomorrow to make sure you feel better. emoticon
