Who I am really keeps surprising me. - Poet Nikki Giovanni

Thursday, March 24, 2011

I think the willingness to get to know myself and to become different from what I thought I was has been key in this journey. Who do I want to be and how am I going to get there. I am learning that although I know who I think I am. I am not always how I see myself. If I am willing to change my opinion I have more success.

I am a person who loves to bake. I like to eat that food. But, I can also be a person who brings salad to the monthly potluck.

I have arthritis in my ankle but, I can use a stationary bike to help me get in shape. I can walk too.

I eat poorly when I have not planned. But, I enjoy the planning. I am learning to put my love of baking into cooking and experimenting with foods.

I am learning to accept that I am a person who makes progress. Even if it feels like I am not.

It is difficult to see ourselves in a different light. That;s why I like hearing how others perceive me, it opens my eyes.

    I love your first paragraph.

New theme song.(to the tune of Getting to Know You")
Getting to know me....getting to know all about me.

    You are one awesome lady.

You are seeing some interesting things about yourself. It is so fun to see you look at life a different way and see possibilities. It will be so fun to see what you discover about yourself next.

I love to bake also, but don't miss it as much as I thought I did. Perhaps it is part of "a time and a season for everything."

Great thoughts! There is so much more to us then we let ourselves realize. It's time to uncover who we really are!
