RIP Manny

Today I found out a very good friend - fellow renal patient passed away. His name was Manuel Salazar.... "Manny" for short. He was only 77.
He'd come into the unit everyday and say good evening to me! I'd say good afternoon! (Even though it was morning) Or he'd say Merry Christmas. I'd say Happy Easter to you! We loved to joke around. He sat right beside me. We shared doggy stories. He had a pomeranian named Charlie.
When the nurses would come towards him to put him on the machine... he always Blessed Himself... made the sign of the Cross! Just to get them laughing!!!
Manny was a little guy... not much taller than me. But he had a wonderful way about him... a Good Spirit.
RIP my friend Manny. Good Evening one Last Time.

Today another patient was missing. Perry Booth. Mr. Booth was on my shift also. His Daughter always wheeled him up. Lately he's been having issues with breathing so they put him on oxygen.
A couple of weeks ago I noticed his legs jerking... I called for the nurse... here Mr. Booth was convulsing. He ended up coding. They took him to the ER and brought him back around.
He's now in the hospital as he was very weak & not breathing well. He's on the heart floor.
I stopped over to see him after my treatment today. His Daughter said he had a heart attack but was holding his own.
When I visited him... (he didn't know he had a heart attack) the family is not telling him... anyway he said he wanted to quit treatments but his wife & daughters don't want him to. So I don't know what is going to happen.
He is the most kind man (besides my Dad) that I ever knew. So nice and always smiling with his dimples showing. A gentle Soul.
Prayers please for the Mr. Booth and the family of Manny Salazar.
Please also, as always, keep our Polly and her family in our prayers. Polly, thank you for the phone call. You always seem to know when I need you. ((((((((Hugs))))))))
Thanks for listening friends.
Love, Marla
