Planting the garden-it's a start!

Tuesday, May 03, 2011

We started planting the garden tonight as the soil was ready on the east side.
DH planted the onions and I planted radishes, lettuce, beets, kohlrabi and
spinach. We barely made a dent in it but it is a start. It was just a little too breezy
to plant the carrots-such fine seed.
After two hours we decided it was getting just late enough to quit. Chores still
needed to be done. Finally, home for supper and a chance to relax. Dishes
are in the dishwasher and the laundry is drying.
I'll catch up with you tomorrow. Thanks for reading and commenting-hugs!

That's good to hear, I know you been itching to get started. DD was asking about different vegetables she hadn't tried, so kohlrabi it is! emoticon

NIce work! We like kohlrabi, but DH's never matured last year! Don't know what went wrong unless they just didn't get enough water. They're so yummy. Hope your garden does great this year!! emoticon

My son and I planted my "salad" garden, too! Mine is a lot smaller than yours, but I can't wait to start eating fresh veggies out of the garden! Hugs!

Lol, you're planting a garden and I'm thinking about battening down the hatches for the coming winter.

    Have a great day.

I did too, but in the green house,I put in some urugula, ,spinach, lettuce, beans, zucchini, onions and cucumbers. But the peppers, basil and tomatoes that I started in March must stay over night in the house.

I left few of them for test and they did not make it last night.

I hope the weather gets better so can start plant outside.

    Good Luck!
