Track Meet Fun:)

Monday, May 09, 2011

Today was the big Track Meet for our school. All the high school and middle school teachers go out to the track to help along with the kids in grades 6-12, who aren't out for track. I get to work the Long Jump, which I have done for 3 years here and for 3 years at the school I was at before. I'm comfortable with it and know the rules so it's fun, plus is always amazing seeing how far some of these kids can jump. I got finished with that event just after 12:30 and than I got to get some lunch and rest for a while before I became a timer. That job is not my favorite, it's a little stressful when the races are close. emoticon I only had one heat where there was confusion, but otherwise it went well. So I got to spend the entire day outside in the beautiful emoticon and wind, which was emoticon, until I realized that I hadn't packed sunscreen. emoticon Needless to say, my arms, nose and neck look lobster red and it really doesn't feel very good either. I should have know better, but I packed for colder weather and not sunshine, that'll teach me.

Tomorrow is actual school day for me and I'll be helping with the PTA movie after school. DD is excited about getting to watch Tangled on the big screen at school and it will be fun spending extra time with her. emoticon

Have a Terrific Tuesday!! Thanks for stopping in!! emoticon

Isn't it amazing how we forget about the sun during our long winters! I got a little rosy just sitting out on the deck and playing frisbee with Daisy dog! Where is that sunscreen???
