Berlin Avon Run - with pictures

Here is the promised blog about my race in Berlin. The race was on May 14th in the area of the Brandenburg Gate. First of all, there were 17,321 women racing. Not all were in the same race but none the less, this was a lot of women that were there racing and helping in raising money for breast cancer.
To follow up on my "diamond bracelet" here is a picture with my new running friend, Garmin.
Many of you know that my crazy (wonderful) DH was sprinting here and there to get pictures. This is one of me again in the mass of people nearing the 4K mark.

I wasn't sore at all from this race, but my DH was!! He was also carrying our water, books, snacks, etc for the day, so he was running around with that extra 15 pounds on his back as well! I am so thankful for his support of me on this journey and always.

I am not a fast runner, in fact most people walk almost as fast as I run. I didn't have an impressive time (41:18) but none the less, my personal best. The important thing to me was that I finished the race and I wasn't last. Goal accomplished!
I have to say, I never would have ever run if it weren't for spark. I had avoided running my entire life, even when I was a fit volleyball player. I have been physically active now for over 2 years and can't imagine going back to the sedentary lifestyle that I led. Thank you spark!!
