Shopping Success

Wet and blustery today, so I decided it was a good time to go shopping for clothes.

My DH has been after me to buy a coat for the winter - it's been ages since I bought a new one; I've been wearing one I got at a garage sale for $1.00 when my old coats got too big. Actually, I like that coat and I'll keep on wearing it, but I agreed that something new would be nice.

Anyway, DH took part in a Kaiser study a couple of weeks ago and they gave him a $100 gift card to Freddie's (I've taken part in several KP studies and never got anything - this may be a new thing, but it's worth it). Anyway, DH wanted me to spend the card on myself.

I did buy a new pair of Sketchers at Freddie's but couldn't find a coat I liked. Looked for new jeans or similar pants and couldn't find my size in a Short style; no bras in the style/size I wanted either. Shopping for clothes is bad enough, but shopping and not finding what I want wears me out fast!

That was a couple of days ago; today, Penney's had a big sale, so I decided to go there. Found a coat within minutes after I entered the store. Sleeves were too long, but I thought I could shorten them. I left it there and went on my way, and ended up with two pair of pants (perfect fit, no shortening needed); two bras (right size & style), and 9 pair of socks. Went back to get the coat and realized that they had it in a Petite size as well as the regular - tried it on and it was perfect! Sleeves exactly as I wanted them.

I told DH he could have the rest of the gift card; it may have cost me more to buy at JCP, but I got what I wanted, so I'm happy!

Of course, I would have been happier if I was buying smaller sizes than the last time around, but at least they weren't bigger sizes!

Yeah, it's always nice to have new duds! I'm glad that you were able to find your size and that no alterations are necessary.

How nice to KP to give you a gift card.
