Gettin' by and Gettin' Happier

Hi all! Things have definitely improved for me over the last month or so. I still have the occasional knife in the side pain, but it is not all day, every day. I'd call that an improvement! I'm not exactly losing weight at the moment, but I have stopped the upward climb. I've stuck at the same weight for a couple of weeks, which is definitely better than watching the scale move to the right every week.

I have been able to increase the amount of exercise over the course of a few weeks. Today I even ran 2 miles in less than 28 minutes. Sooooo much better than that 22 minute mile that about killed me a month ago. Today I added in some leg exercises and some abs training. I think I'll be regretting the abs tomorrow, but I've gotta do it sometime!

I've been watching my food a lot more closely too. Over the last couple of months my parents have been visiting every Saturday. It became a routine to meet them at my son's 10:00 basketball game and then try a new restaurant after the game. We tried some amazing places, but then I would completely regret it after the weekend was over. Basketball season is over, so the lunches are pretty much over for awhile too. That's gonna help me out tremendously. I've been doing awesome during the week and then have a blowout weekend, completely negating my hard work over the week!

Now that the weather is turning so nice we are becoming more active as a family. My 3 year old is starting t-ball soon for the very first time, so we have been practicing pretty much every nice day. We leave early to get my son from school every day and then we play baseball on the diamond while we wait for him to get out. We've been running the bases together (so she runs the right way!!!), I've been shagging a lot of balls, and we've been having a great time together. And this is on top of my actual workouts! I haven't been this active in so long! I love it! Now if we could get my 6 year old son to participate in our baseball practices. That poor kid needs it the most, but he doesn't want to practice at all. He just wants to go out for the games and be good at it. My daughter and I are working hard trying to change his attitude. I think showing him today how hard she can hit the ball might change his mind in the near future. She can hit it just as far as he can!

So, as the weather improves, my health improves, my overall attitude is improving. I'm getting happier each day and starting to just feel better in my body. Hopefully this continues!

    Glad to hear that you are improving if not completely over what ever is causing the pain.

    Good to hear that your little one will be playing T-ball (I remember playing and loving it but once I started actual softball it got old fast for me, no co-ordination...LOL). Not sure how to swing the 6 year old's mind to wanting to practice but maybe when little sis is hitting farther than him he'll get that practice does help.
