Day 10 of my fitness streak is done!!!

So I've mentioned before that I plan on doing a 5k on the 4th of July. Well, after checking out the website, it appeared that there was a one mile fun run and a 10k. What??? lol

My finst task after that was to convince my boss that as long as we can jog the majority of a 5k, we should be able to do the 10k, no problem! lol You like that? hehehe Once she was convinced, I read the website better and realized that yes, there is a 5k. We're still going to shoot for the 10k (apparently I've lost my ever-loving mind), but if, by the middle of June, we don't think we're ready for the 10, we'll do the 5. So we'll see.

We've gone walking the last couple days, but we have to be careful for a while. She hasn't worked out for 2 years. I'm not concerned though. Slow and steady wins the race, right?

Her shin was hurting after our 2 miles last night, so today I got back on the elliptical. I'd wanted to push it and see if I could make it 6.2 miles, but chickened out. lol I did, however, do 3.43 miles, and the first 2 miles were quicker than any workouts I've done so far since getting back into it in January, possibly my fastest since initially getting the elliptical!



Sorry the mile one pic is so fuzzy. Its not that easy to take a pic of an elliptical with your phone when you're on it. lol



I impressed myself with mile two! That time is GREAT for me!



I slowed down after around 2.3 miles. :P Still better than I've done on a 5k in a VERY long time. Total, I did 3.43 miles in 58 minutes. I used the last .33 miles for a cool down of sorts.

Okay, I'm going to post this now. Cross your fingers that the pictures actually show up. :P

I hope everyone is having a fantastic St. Patty's Day!!! I'm skipping the green beer, but I am having quinoa with spinach in it and steamed broccoli for dinner. Does that count? lol

    Way to set a higher goal! I know you can do it!!! So glad to see you pushing yourself! I probably should try to find something like that to do for myself too! Great job Amy! You rock! :)

    I think it's great that you are shooting for a 10k. You do have plenty of time to gradually increase your time to make your distance goal. emoticon emoticon
