Gaining Momentum

I haven't blogged much recently, but I've been here! BLC is amazing... I highly recommend it!
Today I start a new chapter in my weight loss... I'm taking the fitness membership plunge! I have been very hesitant from the start of my journey to spend much $$ on weight loss. I knew that just buying a treadmill could mean I acquired a coat rack, and that jumping into a membership didn't mean I'd suddenly be motivated to exercise 5 days a week. However, I have IT band syndrome thanks to running too much too soon, and I need other forms of cardio to help me recover. The running I CAN do needs to be on a treadmill or softer surface like an indoor track. So... I visited all of the fitness centers around, and have chosen one with a pool and child care and lots of fitness classes. It's on the riverfront and has a beautiful view, and a huge hot tub surrounded with glass.. sauna, steam room.. lots of nice things for recovering sore muscles!
I am excited about starting this next chapter, but also nervous that I will flake out once the excitement has worn off. I am kindof a homebody, and it's about 13 minutes away (5 miles) so it's not far or anything, but I tend to be lazy about leaving the house if I don't HAVE to. That's the old me talking, though... "Get out of my head, Old Me!"
There is also an indoor AND outdoor water play area/zero depth pool with water slides for DS and some fun mommy and me classes. Winning all around!
So that is how I'm going to build momentum to lose these last 30 some lbs ... although right now I REALLY want to heal up this injury so I can run again. I was getting really hooked.
Oh, and keep tracking my food! I've been doing very well lately... no getting comfy and guessing!
