Not eating enough? Me? Are you kidding?

Saturday, August 18, 2012

I'm in my 6th week back on SP and things have been going pretty good. I've been staying within my calorie range for the most part and continuing to add exercise weekly. I lost ten pounds and 10.5 total inches in my first 5 weeks. I would have liked it to be more, but I was really O.K. with that.

The other day I was tracking my food for the day and at the bottom of the screen it said that I needed to update my fitness and that I may not be eating enough for the amount of exercise I was doing (something like that anyway). What? Are you serious? Me not eating enough? That can't be right. But I figured I'd take a look and see what they were talking about. I updated my fitness to the actual number of days and amount of time I was working out. Hit Save. Done. Woah....what the heck? My calorie range has now increased.

Now I'm sure you're all saying, yeah, so big deal, that happens to all of us. But for me this was really an exciting thing. Me, the fat girl, needing to eat more food because of the amount of exercise I'm doing. That, my friends, is a big deal!! Never in my life did I ever think I'd see the day when I was doing enough exercise to be burning up everything I ate for the day. If I could do a cartwheel I think I would have done one.

I was a little leary about increasing my calories, but I figured what I have I got to lose. Weight?

I guess the bottom line to this whole story is that without SP and all of the wonderful people on here I know I would not be where I am today. It is because of all you guys and your blogs and words of encouragement that I keep pushing myself to do a little more. So THANK YOU to you all.

Now I'm off to do my evening workout and then I guess I'm going to have a protein shake to get in my calories for the day.

I wish you all the best and God bless you all!

Laura

Oh yeah, if you put in the right amount you are burning per week it will tell you the right calories to eat.. and if it's high exercise, you can eat more! And you need to eat more, in fact, to lose weight when you burn so much. It's awesome to do it that way! :) Congrats and burn on1 ;)
