New to this whole blogging thingy, but I feel like writing =] anyone out there?

I grew up in a home where Hamburger Helper & Rice a Roni were common staples. My mom smoked, worked a high stress job, and let's just be frank, did not give a crap about her health! She was a single mom just doing what she could do, we never saw her, so needless to say...we raised ourselves....

Kids don't make the healthiest of choices!

Earlier this year I peaked the scale @ a whopping 258! I thought to myself, "Damn girl, 250 ain't enough, huh? You wanna push 300 now?!"

I knew something was wrong when my polite Aunt made a comment that maybe I had gained some weight!

That night I scoured Craigslist, bought an elliptical, used it for a couple weeks, then forgot about it!

Recently I started working out again and I am down to 223. Of course I have been slowly changing my eating habits as well.

I am noooooo good with the crash dieting and dramatic change of foods, I have tried these types of diets and they never worked for me, so here's what I did:

Step 1. Cut down what I usually eat by half
Step 2. Cut out any drinks except water (I sneak an occasional soda!! SHH!!)
Step 3. Start substituting things for healthier items

These 3 steps I have done over the process of about 6 months along with my cardio 3X a week (Sometimes more, sometimes less!) And I also just started weight training!

Basic summary of my story - I am trying to implement healthier choices for everything along the way! Never stop! So far this has given me good results =]

Let me know your tips and techniques! No need to reinvent the wheel here people! Help a sista out!!
