Now I've Done It

In case you didn't know, my doctor has been monitoring my weight loss. I go and see him once a month for progress reports and to make sure I'm staying healthy. It was helping me to stay on track as I know that I will have to explain myself if I don't lose any weight.
When I went for my appointment a month ago, I had only lost about 4 pounds. Yes, this isn't bad, but he and I were both hoping for more. Then I got sick, and I was baasically off plan for two weeks. That seemed to completely derail me. I went today for a check in, and I hadn't lost anything. I was just happy to hear that I didn't gain after the September that I had!
I have started regular exercise again, but I have determined that my body needs two things. 1) A change - I've been doing basically the same cardio over and over. I know that our bodies can get 'used to' that, so I have to mix it up. 2) Strength Training - This is what I do not like. It always feels like a chore to me.
After months of arguing with myself, I finally stopped in at my local Curves after my doctor's appointment today. It took me months because I am so self conscious. I always feel that people are looking at me and thinking "She's doing it wrong." I talked to the very nice lady who was working this morning. (Boy, did that help that she smiled and was so nice!) I asked a lot of questions, and I have an appointment to go back on Tuesday and meet with her to go over their program and how everything works. It's a free 30 minute assessment and mini-training.
This is a HUGE step for me. I think this could really help me get to my final goal. Keeping my fingers crossed!
