Goals for 2013

Saturday, December 29, 2012

I feel like I benefit from making goals, especially written ones. It was wonderful to come back to my 2012 goals at the end of the year and look them over to see where I actually was. I didn't accomplish all my goals, but I was pleased to see progress in my life.

Here are my 2013 goals:

Spiritual
*Start a prayer journal and list to be more effective in my prayer life.
*Pray more
*Read the Bible daily. I don't want to set a goal to read through the Bible this year, but rather to absorb more of what I read. I will still use a list to account for what I have read throughout the year.

Health/Fitness
*walk or run 700 actual miles - thanks to keeping track of this in 2012 I can now see what realistic is and this will push me just a little.
*do one race - although I don't know which one this year as the one I have normally done is on the same day as a friend's son's wedding.
*eat 5 fruits/veggies each day. Although I didn't do this well in 2012, it is something I believe my body needs and is a worthy goal to keep striving for.
*Strength train 2 days a week.
*Drink 8 glasses of water per day. I did get better with this in 2012 but I would love to not miss a single day of drinking my water.
*Reach my goal weight of 150 pounds

Projects:
My goal in 2013 is to clean out every single cupboard and drawer in my house. There are 26 in my livingroom alone! I still have too much stuff. I want to rid my home of all unneccesary things. If I don't use it, don't love it, or someone else can benefit from it - it is finding another home.

I will come back and update this blog with my weight on Dec 31st. (188 - uggg!) That way I have a realistic picture of where I am. I also want to try to have some monthly written goals. I have a planner that has space for that, so I may do that there.

Those look like really constructive, measurable goals. It is now October 2014, how are you doing on your goals? I have a problem with remembering to go backwards to check my goals and see how I have done. You've given me some thoughts on goals to work on myself. Thanks.

These are super goals to be working on accomplishing this year.

I especially enjoyed reading your Spiritual growth goals.

How are you doing now that we are just past the halfway mark?

God bless you with much success in all areas!

I like the way you plan to follow-up on your goals. I sometimes make a goal, but don't do anything to carry it out. I also like to write and keep records. You should see my journal for BLC! I hate printing stuff out, so I just write notes in my journal and keep track that way.

You will certainly be successful in these goals! I admire that.

Thanks for sharing. I'm working on mine right now. I have the same prayer goals. Really want to work on that this year. I also want to be more consistent here at SP. It helps me and I need that more than ever since I have quit Curves.

Great goals ... I should do this also - not quite sure if mine would be as 'good' as yours. I did, however, join BLC and hope that being a part of that team will get me going in the right direction again...as it stands right now, I'm almost to the weight that I was when I started SP.....((sigh)).....

These sound like good, reasonable goals. I wish I had as much storage space as you. Since we have so little, I'm slowly working towards organizing and clearing it to make it more roomy.

    Good luck.
