Wedding drama and it's not even my wedding!

Sunday, January 13, 2013

One of my friends got engaged a couple weeks ago. I am SO happy for her! I'm in her wedding and myself & a mutual friend got nominated by the bride to plan the bachelorette party.

In our little group of girls, there is one that is not married/engaged (we'll call her M). She is actually not seeing anyone at all. This is a problem for her. She always saw herself as being married and had kids by now (her 19 year old sister has a kid). Because of this, she is often a little bitter. M is also one of the bridesmaids.

Anyway...we're planning the bachelorette party and it seems like M is trying to thwart our plans at every turn. Ask for weekend suggestions? No answer from M. Pick weekend that works for everyone that answered? Doesn't work for M. Bride picks a place she'd like to have it? Not a place M wants to go. And we just started planning!

Seriously makes me want to punch her in the face. Don't get me wrong, we are friends and have been for a long time, it just gets frustrating. Ugh.

Weddings area always drama, they just are. Do the best you can when dealing with her. Tell you what date worked for everyone else and location, if it doesn't work for her tell you will miss her and maybe her and bride can get together for a lunch instead.

I would just try my best to pick somewhere that the majority of everyone wants to go and gently tell everyone.... that is the place.... if you can't make it then it's ok, no one will take offense. I don't know why weddings have to be such drama!
