Front Porch Swing

Today is another beautiful day. After taking a long walk, I plan to get my library book and sit in the front porch swing. The bed will be made, the dishes will be done and my healthy dinner planned but there will be dust on some furniture, some projects not finished and some things left for another day. This is the reward of retirement and sometimes I forget because lots of folks think if you don't "work" you would be happy to do theirs. Sometimes I just need to let it all go and sit on the front porch. Hope all who read this today find a little time to just sit and enjoy wherever they are!

    I totally agree with your concept! emoticon We were home for a couple of days but Friday was tied up with errands and a 7 hour stretch of waiting at Freightliner for repairs so Saturday I stopped for 1 1/2 hours just to relax for awhile instead of dust and vacuum. We're going to be gone for a couple of weeks this trip so I decided it didn't really matter. I am fanatical about leaving everything in order so it's just dust and I really needed to do something besides work. emoticon

    Very true. I did very much enjoy that day on the porch--today is very nice too, just a little windy. Funny you talked about the added on one-story kitchen, that is exactly how our house was built. Four rooms up, four rooms down exactly the same size. One room was sectioned off later for the bathroom. We did add another bathroom upstairs when a grandson stayed to go to college here. emoticon

    I like this...........A LOT! I think the same way, sometimes. All of our working lives, we have been too busy to stop and smell the emoticon 's, and NOW, we need to take the time! The house and all the dust will still be there, none the worse for the extra time on the furniture! LOL! emoticon
