Week 6 of 6!!!

Sunday, June 30, 2013

I have completed my 6 week challenge. I focused on nutrition, fitness and my professional development.

I am now more than ever convinced that you can eat healthy on a budget. No, I can't get the organic or even the leanest cuts of meats but I can make good choices within the budget constraints that I have. I may have to buy chicken thighs instead of breast or ground turkey that is not the leanest, but it beats a fast food burger any day. Oh and this is BIG. When checking for a recipe I do not choose recipes with more than 5 or 6 items this is financially affective as well.

I lost 8 pounds in 6 weeks!!! I am very happy about that. I've increased the length of my walks. And now I've met a friend at the gym. I do not need someone to workout with but a buddy in the way of support even if we are not there on the same days somehow feels like I have a gym buddy now.

Professional Development
I did reach out and risked a few rejections that later led to at least one yes. It is not a full time job but a small contract that will begin in the fall. I must be willing to risk rejection without allowing it to attack my self esteem. Enough no's can eventually lead to a yes. Actually after each no I practiced my initial approach to potential clients.

This was a successful challenge. Now I am considering a new challenge.

Sorry it has taken me so long to get to your blog, but wow! VERY good job! I am happy to hear that you have a contract job and you're right . . . it IS hard, but you have to take chances and risk rejections to get ahead. Good for you. VERY proud of your accomplishments.

8 lbs. kicked to the curb. EXCELLENT!
