A little bit of melting and a whole lot of other stuff

Thursday, December 12, 2013

It warmed enough today to melt in some areas and the city crew
was cleaning the streets as much as possible. Everyone was out
and getting the ice off the sidewalks.
I was working on the healthcare website and was just to the point
of signing up our very FIRST client when the pager went off and
I had to leave. (Thankfully the young man was very computer
savvy and finished without me) We needed to transport an older
lady from the care center to the hospital with chest pains. That
wasn't such an issue but she weighed over 300 pounds! My
driver and I asked the janitor at the center to help us load her.
It took all 3 of us and I was glad he could help.
So when I get back home, it is midafternoon, I haven't had lunch
and this is really not a good time to go. So I made it through the
day until coffee break and ate a doughnut. Yep, that was lunch.
We finished the day and I made egg salad sandwich spread
for dinner, with snow soup and a salad. I am way short of
my calorie range and will have to snack on some yogurt
before bedtime. I am not the slightest bit hungry. I am sure
I will make up for it tomorrow.
So my NSV for today was beating the website at it's own game
and being content with the day.
Thanks for stopping by and have a fun Friday! HUGS!

Sure hope things are going well with you. Glad they are cleaning up the snow and ice before another storm hits.
We are getting rain but expecting it to change over to snow as the temperatures drop.
    Blessings and hugs,

That was some day you had Marsha! I wanted to know what snow soup was too......It is nice that you are finally thawing out a bit.... we are "hunkered" down for the weekend because the weather is supposed to be pretty bad with snow and sleet. Hope your weekend is great!

Yes, all your friends want to know what Snow Soup is!

Your story about the woman who weighed so much being difficult to transport served as a great reminder to me to get into the best health I can. Many many years ago, I attended a Weight Watchers meeting at which most of the participants were older than I am now. I was trying to lose a little weight to look better in my cute young-person clothes, but one older lady said she had joined because her doctor told her that if she didn't lose weight, when she died she would require a special-order casket because she was so big. Somehow that sticks in my mind after all this time as a cautionary tale!

I hope today goes smoothly and that you go into the weekend feeling like you've won the battle and defeated the website dragon! emoticon

I am glad everything worked out with the lady. A friend of mine, who is a nurse, had to retire early do to hurting her back moving heavy patients. Working in healthcare is hard work. Have a good day tomorrow. emoticon

Wow! That is one thing that my business hasn't presented to me: morbid obesity. Yes, some of my clients are overweight, but not 300 lbs. Wow!

As to your eating....there is NO, NADA,NONE nutrition in a doughnut. It isn't just the calories, it is the nutrition. I'm sure you'll understand my "mother-mode". LOL
