So I'm back at it. Have been for a couple of weeks.
I want to run the Zooma Texas Half in April. Unfortunately, I had some pain in my foot that sidelined me for about the length of the holiday season. Fortunately, rest and a change of shoes has helped me get back to running.
I don't have any running buddies to meet up with or keep me accountable. I've tried a few times with different people but either they decided to not continue running or our schedules don't work well together. Who am I trying to kid? My schedule doesn't work well for me, so how can I ask someone else to be that crazy flexible?
Anyway, this isn't a pity party. It's a celebration. In comes my amazing hubby to the rescue, again. From halfway around the world! He may be deployed, but we are still in regular contact and as close as ever. He has a pretty flexible schedule and came up with an amazing idea. We are training together.
Well, not together, but we are following the same schedule. I sent him a copy of the training schedule and we are holding each other accountable by reporting on our training daily. I have self-motivated in training in the past, but it is always easier to have someone to talk to about it, if not physically doing the runs together.
