In-between

I’m in-between.
I’m not at my highest weight, and I’m not at my lowest weight, just somewhere in-between.
I’m not a teenager, and I’m not an old lady, somewhere in-between although perhaps closer to one end than the other, who knows!
Style-wise, I’m neither Juicy Couture nor Brooks Brothers; probably a lot of options in-between.
Can you tell I went shopping? Yes, after four years of buying mostly running clothing and gear, I’ve decided that my decimated work wardrobe needs to be replenished. I’d even started having nightmares about it. Seriously.
So I headed to Macy’s today, where I knew there would be some petite options. Nothing would do. Oh how I miss the days when Houston had Lord and Taylor, who could always be counted on to have a substantial selection of petite styles. These days, it seems if you are petite you are expected to dress either like a child or like an old lady. I’m neither, I’m in-between.
I was ready to spend more than I usually do if something grabbed me. Nothing did.
I think I need to be pushed outside my comfort zone somehow. So tomorrow I’m having DD take me shopping, because I can count on her advice. She’s neither the oldest nor the youngest, she’s the one in-between.
