Productive day

Wednesday, June 04, 2014

Jeff was a little more alert today. The social worker came by concerning the Grant a Wish request, Jeff asked that someone come in on the 14th and be with him so I can go to my family reunion. They have someone all lined up for about 12 hours. Thank God I now know that I will be able spend time with the whole clan. It is set up that if Jeff goes ome to be with the Lord before that time Hospice will let the social worker know and the day will be canceled for the worker,
Did not get much done this morning. We had quite a bit of rain early. Once the sun came out I was working just outside the front door and Jeff is kocated just inside the front door. It was easy to keep an eye on him without him getting irritated with me because I am trying to do too much for him. I have started digging up the perennials and replanting them out back. In their place, I am planting shrubs. I lay down newspaper around the shrub and then put mulch over the paper. I have about half of the flower bed dug and replanted except for the mums. I will do them all at one time because it will be easier that way to get them where I want them to go and planted. There are three arbor vitae planted, two green and one golden. Still have four more to get done. I won't be working out there again until probably Friday as I have appointments tomorrow.
Once my back gave out on me and I just could not do the digging and bending I went back out to the patio and got more of the painting done. Seems as though it is taking forever and a day to get it done. I need to give the facing board and the header another coat of paint. I will see if I can't get that done when i get back tomorrow. I may try to get the rest of the East side done then. If I were to be completely honest all of it would look better to me if I would put a second coat on it all.
While I am out and about tomorrow my sis, Peg and my daughter will be here with Jeff. I am going to get another gallon of paint and a couple more cheap paint brushes, and also about six more bags of mulch. That should be enough to get the front all done. Once all the plants are removed and the rest of the shrubs are planted I will put some plastic edging down so hopefully the grass will be halted. I also have a couple of bags of top soil to get dumped out there and raked out. There is also a bare spot in the yard so I will put some top soil there and get some grass seed sown.

That is enough of my rambling so will say God bless
