Watch out for Deer out there.

Friday, November 14, 2014

Well, got a call from our daughter last night; she was on her way home from work. She'd taken the main highway to avoid any deer, and turned onto her road, got about 3 miles down the road, and WHAM..a deer jumped the fence, landed right in front of her car, she hit it and it spun around and hit the side of her car.

Result? She couldn't open her door but for 1" or so. She called us because her fiance was working and wasn't answering his phone, then she called her future mother in law, who, in her words "panicked and went running out to tell Dan he had to get to Brande asap.

Brande (our daughter) then called the Sheriff's dept who came out and arrived at the same time as Dan (her fiance). The officer didn't look for the deer, Dan did and couldn't find it. When checking everything; her license wasn't updated (she'd paid the money and they never sent a sticker to her!! second time this has happened.).

So she called them and got that going, the Cop gave her a warning. She then was worried because she'd paid her insurance online and hadn't gotten her card. I called the insurance who then called her and told her it was there, paid for, and not to worry, they'd get a card out to her.

She has til next week to take a copy of her license plate renewal to the local PD (which is not a problem). She has to take her car in to get it fixed, but the insurance doesn't pay for a rental car, so she's going to be stuck driving her fiance to work, then taking herself, and his dad will have to bring him home.

Oh, she did find the antler of the deer (only one), and it was a 6 pointer. Told her she could always be like "The Grinch" and put it on her Golden Retrievers head for Christmas. *L*

Had to call up all the board members about the meeting next Wednesday, only got ahold of 3; so frustrating, had to leave messages with the others. I've sent them emails, too, and the City of Janesville will be sending them regular letters.

I was also invited to speak to the city council on the 24th of November, about the playground for their "Spotlight Janesville" section. We were chose, and I'm so excited.

So next week is busy: 18th-Dr. appmnt in am; radio interview in afternoon; Wednesday: CAMDEN Meeting; Friday: Wrap up at SCWHOG/Kutter Harley Davidson in Janesville as one of our fundraisers. Then the following Monday is the City Council presentation.

I have been so busy, I'm shocked I haven't lost weight from that!

Have a great Friday, I have to get going soon, to get a few things done before I meet my husband and our son for supper. See you soon!

Drive carefully out there, I've had my cousin hit a deer with his new truck, his son (my 2nd cousin) hit a deer with their truck, and not Brande, drive safely, keep your eyes open for those roaming deer!

Oh, to help you smile, here's the latest picture I received of our Grand-puppy. Our daughter said he "stole my throw pillow and claimed it as his own". *L* That's hilarious, he's just laying there in his bed, sleeping, with his head on the pillow. Glad she is OK. I hit a deer once, also on the way home from work. There was nothing in front of me and in the next split second there was a deer! I almost got stopped as I wasn't going very fast but I hit it, it fell down, it got up and ran away. It was a big one!

So glad she is okay! I hit a deer a couple of years ago, I slowed down but couldn't avoid it. Very scary experience!

O . . . M . . . G! I am glad your DD wasn't hurt! That is so scary and this is the time of yr. I guess that the prevalence of deer/motor vehicle hits are highest.

    Glad she's all right.
