Okay, this morning's workouts were 30 Mins to fitness Weights (upper body) with low cardio rests and Turbo Fire Fat Blaster all for which my Polar F11 HRM says I burned 160 calories total. SERIOUSLY?

How would it know when almost every time I glanced at it (especially during the most intense parts) it read 00??!!!!!! The chest strap is clean and fits perfectly AND is the second one I've purchase from them because the first one did the same thing!!!

I am forever frustrated with this thing so I'm asking. Does anyone have or know of a really reliable heart rate monitor? I don't mind a chest strap (prefer it actually) IF IT READS IT!!!!!

OH and let me also add that the whole time I've been sitting here doing NOTHING but web browsing, the Polar has been showing my heart rate consistently so obviously, it taps out when I start to move vigorously which kinda defeats the purpose. Thanks.

Sue, I am using the Polar F4 and have had the same problem, but since I started using Spectra 360 Electrode Gel I haven't had a problem, it works well. The only drawback is that I find that I have to put a lot of it on, but I don't care as long as it works. Also, the strap has to fit snug as well. I have 2 extra sensors/straps because of this, but when it "NEW" sensor experienced the same problem I started to think that maybe that wasn't the problem. I had previously used a cream and another thinner type gel ... the Spectra gel is thick. So far, as long as I use a lot of it, it works. If anyone knows of another HR monitor that does not have this problem and is as accurate as Polar, when not reading "00".... please share.

I wish I could help, but even if things have good reviews, there's always negatives about them...
