Fun 5 Days in the Desert (Pictures)

Wednesday, May 06, 2015

It was nice to get away for a few days. Where we camped there was no phone, tv, electricity or Wifi so I had to start over on my log in streak and catch up on posts and email when I got home. I also had lots of laundry and chores around here to catch up on.

This was our home away from home for 5 days.

Three of the days we did some fishing as well as exploring some trails. We didn't catch anything to brag about but it was nice to just sit out there and enjoy nature. The osprey had better luck fishing than we did but unfortunately I wasn't quick enough to get a picture of them.

We walked across this suspension bridge one day to hke a canyon trail. Not sure who hated the bridge more, me or the dog. Poor Lexie would freeze and refuse to move till we stayed still long enough to slow the bridge swaying.

I will add more pictures of our canyon hike tomorrow.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

Martha, so sorry I forgot you blogged. I love your photos and I think I can remember a young girl got a new camera and I read about the trip.
Poor Dog I walked over a swing bridge in Montana. I used to do rock climbing and odd things and I really wanted to do it and I did-alone DH did not want to cross. A cousin from UK did it and her DH shook it, I know how poor lexie must have felt, I did not worry till the structure began to sway, HUGS Pat in MAINE. .

Okay, I think I'm with Lexie. Swaying bridges are a bit intimidating. Looks beautiful, peaceful and a perfect place for hiking. The water looks beautiful, too bad you didn't catch a meal from there. Is it a place where you can swim in warmer weather?
Vacations and breaks away are fun but a lot of work, especially the first and last time in a season when you use the camper. We never had one, but my parents got one after I was married, my uncle in Belgium had one. I remember scrubbing it out, loading it up and sleeping in it. We traveled from Brussels to Paris, then up the coast to see Mont St. Michel and the D-day beaches-it rained most of the time that spring break.
Thanks for bringing back great memories Martha, and thanks for the beautiful pictures. emoticon emoticon emoticon

Love the pictures! it is my idea of a perfect holiday. DH and I have a dream of getting a VW camper and just hitting the road to wonderful places in nature. The flowers were gorgeous and I had to laugh at sweet Lexie, afraid to cross the swinging bridge.
Keep sharing, we love them! emoticon
