Good 'ol fashioned digging

Prepping the garden last night. I was going to till it but couldn't get the tiller to run. So I started digging.
My rows were about 8-10 inches deep, all the way across, dig the next row, toss the dirt into the prior ditch. Although my garden isn't very big - probably about 8x12 feet (I'm motivated to measure it now) it was a good hour's worth of digging.
It's pretty exciting to consider that not only did I get my garden soil preparation started but I'm doing my body good by working it and will benefit greatly from the delicious food that will grow therein. (Already enjoying my spring crops of Spinach and lettuce - peas and beets to come!)
