"A Journey of 50 lbs begins with a glass of water"

Every time I "get serious" about weightloss, I make this big plan that I'm going to follow and it lasts about 3 days. Then I blow it, feel discouraged and quit for another 5 lb gain.
So now I think I will just have a glass of water and go for a walk. Start with that. Every day.
I know it doesn't sound like there's much energy behind it, it's not inspiring. But if I don't get all fired up, then maybe I won't burn out. Maybe I've been going about this the wrong way for myself. Maybe I just need to build up the momentum. Slowly, A glass of water and a mile at a time.

    Right on!! I have recently discovered the "small change plan" too. I didn't have much faith in it but it has worked well for me. It's better than me going gung ho and hitting a wall and sliding down it. I can't be perfect but I can handle small changes.

    Baby steps! I was just thinking today not to make grand plans of all the things I need to change all at the same time because I know I wouldn't last the week. So 2 small changes right now, add another in a few weeks, etc.

    My first goal was ten minutes a day(everyday) of fitness. I would do it the minute everyone left the house in the morning. I started trying to eat what was on my nutrition plan as best I could (some substitutions as needed). A glass of water and walk is a great start. I know emoticon .
