A surreal weekend!

Friday evening was my first non-trial class at the new fitness center I recently joined. Coworker did not show. Small panic attack on the inside. Breathed deep, got my heart rate monitor on, with the help of the female trainer, and got on a treadmill to warm up.
Class starts, dimly lit room, heart-pumping music, trainer on a microphone headset. 20 minutes or so on the treadmill (I have workout amnesia) at varying speeds and intensities.
Occasionally peaked up at the board displaying everyone's names, heart rates, spats and color to make sure I stayed in the fat-burning zone, not muscle-burning zone.
Time to get off the treadmill and hit the free-weight area. Everybody fist bumps each other to say good job. Dumbbell Chest flies followed by get in plank position, jump to replace where my hands were, with my feet, then shoulder lifts, rinse repeat three times, then hit the water rowing machine and get to 200 meters in about a minute, start over with the weights.
Then some killer ab work. I was ABSOLUTELY SPENT and felt so accomplished and powerful!
Laundry Saturday then met friends at a winery for wine tasting and dinner. The winery was so nice. I wanted to buy all the beautiful cheese trays, and wine-related trinkets. It was great catching up with the girls! And the Cubs won so yeah, great day!
Today, Sunday, DH and I stopped to gas up the motorcycles before heading out for a ride on this GORGEOUS fall day. We heard screaming, looked around and saw a man pull his little boy out of the car, followed by his wife who was about to deliver!
I ran over, pulling off my helmet and glasses to see if I could help. Grandma held one of mom's hands, I held the other and their three-year old little boy while DH finished gassing and moving the bikes. The baby, a little boy, came quick. Dad did a great job getting the baby. We all grabbed stuff to wrap mom and baby. It was a chilly morning.
The ambulance seemed to take forever. They went to the wrong gas station a couple miles away. DH talked to them to get them to the right place while I took the little boy off to the side, reassuring him everything was okay and told him what an exciting day this is. Grandma said mom was losing consciousness. I took the little boy by his mom's head to talk to her and his new brother to keep her talking.
As they got ready to take mom and baby to the hospital, I got the three year-old back into his car seat. My kids are adults so this three-year old had to tell me how to work his car seat while his dad and grandma talked with the paramedics. We both laughed, I high fived him!
It was a very surreal experience. I lost my jacket liner with the rest of the stuff we covered mom and baby with and a paramedic stepped on my glasses I tossed aside with my helmet.
DH and I went home to get my spare glasses and went for a great ride. The sun was shining, the trees were turning color all of sudden here and there is a new little guy in the world!
Blessings to everyone in Sparkland!
