Day #22 Multitask with Food

Because yesterday's challenge to be conscious of what I eat took total commitment, today I may have trouble multitasking and paying attention to my food since multitasking and eating is what I normally do.

I think that when I eat with other people I can join in the conversation and am aware of the food because part of the conversation is about the food.
However most of my meals are eaten alone (with TV, computer, etc) and those meals seem to be eaten unconsciously so for those I will still focus totally on the food for now.

My hope is that I will be able to learn that food is really fuel for my healthy lifestyle! My body needs good nutrition, correct amounts for my activities and occasionally a treat to make life interesting!

Thank you to all the wonderful people on here who offer encouragement and ideas, I am truly grateful!

Another great thought for the day. Finding out what triggers and motivates us to eat or not. Focus on each choice and bite. Thank you for making me think!

That is a good lesson to strive toward!
I agree that it is much easier to be conscious of food eating with someone socially - I have the opposite experience when I eat in meetings at work. I tend to shovel food in my mouth when I get frustrated with the conversation. emoticon
