Day #28 Eating Because It's There

For sure this is an area that I need to take to heart. A lot of times when I've eaten, put the food away and been plenty full, I keep thinking about how good it was and have been known to go back for more just because it's there.

I know that I need to keep certain things out of site because I will keep thinking about them until I eventually cave in and have some. This is why I still ask hubby to keep his "junk" food in his shop or his van!

Part of this lesson is learning how to ignore food.
I need to remember the main reason to eat is to fuel my body not keep putting in more than I need.
Blessings on your day! emoticon

I am definitely one who needs to keep the temptations out of sight, too!

I've noticed that all of my cravings for sweets are proximity cravings: if a decadent food appears, I suddenly want it. That's when you have to ask yourself--am I really hungry? And distract yourself for a few minutes. Most times you forget about the food.

This is personally the very hardest thing for me.... I believe I'll always have to work hard to keep it in check......

I am right there with you ... please keep it out of my sight! It's difficult to say "No" when I know it tastes good.

That's been a huge issue for me too. I work in the reception area, so all my co-workers want to leave their holiday candies and treats on my desk. I banned it. If they want to bring in treats they have to take them to the kitchen area.

My roommate is also no help. She lives on chocolates, cupcakes, etc. She's also terrible about leaving those things laying around.

But my big fall is eating yogurts. I love yogurt, I eat one, then I want another and another.

I've found the best thing is just to keep myself occupied. If I start getting bored or stressed, I start thinking about food.

    Good luck

When I get junk food on my mind I call a friend or go for a walk or workout
