Promoting the Outdoors #2
Thursday, January 07, 2016
In the past, I've brought up questions about promoting the outdoors and what are some of the ways others might do so. It occurred to me that scheduling an activity and offering others an opportunity to participate would be a good way to do so. We have a New Year's Day hike that we do every year and this year we saw an amazingly increase in new participants. It was wonderful. We hiked a trail that took everyone through the prairie and canyon 45 miles away from our starting point. I shared the interesting aspects of the prairie ecosystem and the Native American culture. Man, what an awarding time it was.

Streams and crossings always make it picturesque.

If you plan an outing, make it interesting and picturesque if possible. Search for a wow factor and incorporate it your hike. Spend time there and explore. Make it a wonderful experience.
