Day 431: After a long time

Wednesday, April 06, 2016

Hi all. The last time I wrote here was on 15 January 2016, 82 days back. Though I was active on spark, I mean I logged in to post a few entries for 5% challenges and BLC, I was not able to write a blog. My life got so hectic in between. Taking care of home, a 2 year old kid, office, cooking, and above all official pressure of March end PHEW!!!!

But now that March is over and its a beginning of a new financial year, things are looking better. I hope now I will find some time out to write something frequently.

So, what happened in between.. We celebrated our son's second birthday on 28 January. We threw in a small party at home with all the neighborhood kids. And planning a party for kids was so tiring. But it was fun.

In February, we scheduled a short visit to our home time for some family events. And once we were back from the visit, it was a long period of illness for all three of us (me, my husband and our son). My son took quite a long time to recover but now he is well.

And March, it was a month for office work only. No other words to say about this month.

Somehow, inspite of all this, I have managed to continue with my weight loss efforts.. Today I weighed in at 166.4 lb (75.5 kg). The last time I wrote here I was 168 lb (76.2 kg). So I managed to achieve a loss, however small it is.

I had a major achievement in the Month of March. I participated in my first 5K. And I finished in about 55 minutes. I know that its not a very good timing, but this was my first 5K and I finished it without any practice. So I am totally proud of myself for this. I hope to do more in the future.

And I am on a 20 day streak of walking 10 K steps everyday.

I would mention my special spark friend BLESSED2BEME, who reminded me that I am being missed here. thank you Trish, your comment made me feel special.

So that's it for today. Will write more later.

Lots of love,
Swati

Congratulations on running your first 5K. Time does not matter so much; finishing it does. Well done.
And your weight is moving down as well! Same thing here, slow is okay.

Life will always be hectic; you're a working mom, wife, and the keeper of your home, that's a lot of responsibilities.
Living healthy will go a long way towards accomplishing all you have to do.
Best wishes. Glad to see you back.

emoticon emoticon How exciting - your first 5K! Be proud! Be very proud and don't ever say you are slow. You are lapping everyone that is still sitting on the couch! You are making a difference for your body and it doesn't matter if you finish first or last or somewhere in between. My only goal with my races is to do better than I did last time so now you have a starting point in which to improve upon.

Good to hear from you and catch up on your life. Glad you are still sparking even though you might not have time to blog and a special emoticon for your weight loss!
