Hubby and I just spent an hour walking around our garden and checking the damage the storm did. We had a hellacious rainstorm with high gusted winds two nights ago and then it proceeded to thunder and lightning all night and early the next morning. We did ok. I lost very little and most damage was to the trees where it whipped the tender shoots of the ends. I lost some ground in the rose garden, but I can shovel that back quite easy.
Our plants are doing well and we pointed out to each other the changes we noticed and progress some plants made. The shrubs are established and many have tender new shoots, one of the new roses took well and had also new green. The seeds from the pansies are showing, but let's not jinx that one yet... They still have to make it to about an inch of height before I rejoice. The rest of the garden now needs some sun!
my grand daughter picking flowers, she likes to pick the blossoms. We put them in water and they "live" on my kitchen window sill for a few days. I don't mind her picking flowers, as long as she leaves me a few.
Yesterday I started a big job decluttering my kitchen cabinets and reducing some of the clutter... Goodwill will be happy and some of it went to my daughter, stuff she asked for. Some of it also had to land in the trash... sad when it happens but unavoidable. So I lost complete track of the time cleaning... doesn't happen to me often. My daughter called about three and told me was stuck at work, her hubby couldn't be reached and the baby was throwing up at daycare. Usually her other grand-mother takes care of that stuff, for she lives much closer; but she was on her way home from Montana and currently stuck in Denver. ... so I stopped everything, told my hubby where I was going and went to go get my grand-daughter. Poor thing was white like a ghost.... headache. She has allergies and she woke up from naptime with a whopper of a headache and started throwing up. So we got her home and settled and read two storybooks before she fell sound asleep. Best thing for her!
Sunday we were playing in the garden...
