My why

Thursday, May 19, 2016

Have you ever thought about your "why"? Anytime I set a goal, I have to really think about why I want to reach the goal. In most cases, my why is my family. Pretty much everything I do is to make our lives better either financially, mentally or physically. Of course my wellness goals will benefit my family. I'll be happier, have more energy and hopefully live a long life with them. But I have to be honest. Yes, I want my entire family to benefit from eating healthful foods. Do they care if I lose weight or look good in a swimsuit? Not at all. I'm just tired of being the fat mom. My kids range in age, so in some cases I'm the old mom, some I'm the young mom, in all cases I'm the working mom, photographer mom and busy mom. I'm Mrs. and my husband's wife. I'm okay with all of those labels but I'm not okay with the label of fat mom. No one has ever called me that, at least not to my face. It's just a feeling, knowing that might be how someone describes me, a feeling I do not like. I'm done being the fat mom.
