Last night my grand daughter called. She is four and the phone calls always go one of two ways, she is so excited that she talks a mile a minute and you have to keep up; or she is quiet and talks a mile a minute and you have to strain to listen. Last night I got the quiet one and she called me to tell me she had a new hand sanitizer that smells of watermelon and peaches. She explained in detail how to use it and invited me to have a try, she'd share she said. I don't remember how it happened, but from sharing her new hand sanitizer she got herself an invite to spend Saturday at my house and to go on a shopping trip and have blueberry muffins.
Last Monday, Memorial Day here, she helped to bake cookie bars and pizzelles and Saturday we'll look into making blueberry muffins. She'll love the muffins more.
I'll take her shopping tomorrow to a superstore for my monthly supplies and we'll stop at a bakery outlet that's near her house for bread for the freezer. They have this wonderful low calorie high fiber bread for a third of the price that I pay at the grocery store. ... and it's always fresh here.
So it's been raining again non-stop since yesterday morning. I had such a bad day yesterday....
I went outside in the morning to check on things and found one of the flower boxes topped over onto the ground. All the lovely flowers had spilled out. No sooner did I fix this it began to rain again. Back in the house I tended to my window sill garden and broke one of my favorite mugs. It just slipped from my hand and shattered on the kitchen floor. I just froze there since as always I was barfoot. I started feeling a headache coming on and made sure to take something before it settled. Before long I burned my hand on the tempered glas of the convection oven while checking on our lunch. I have two lovely welts across the knuckles of the back of my hand. I think I had enough, and just went back to bed. After a good long nap I did feel better and even rode my bike for 5 miles, which translates to 23 minutes.
So my garden and all the water we got ...it needs some sun....
My zucchini and summer squash, pumpkin is in the back of it
That pesky hawthorne tree make a good climb, the vine from the summer squash is about 9,5 to 10 feet tall now and shock full of flowers and a few squashes.
..and my latest front yard project...
The rose is a "Regensberger Rose" kind of a tea rose on a stick and is now in the pot and just in front of my truck you can see the new shrubs.
