too much

Wednesday, June 22, 2016

too much water and not enough sun in the beginning. I am starting to write some of my garden off. Oh I still have hope, I always have hope, just no expectations. Some good still does come from it all. Out of 8 tomato plants I have one that produces. Just this morning I picked three ripe tomatoes. I have to pick beans today, bush beans are ready. The potatoes tops are completely wilted and I am ready to dig potatoes today as well. I have one summer squash coming two cucumbers and I harvested one large zucchini. the two spaghetti squash are doing well and there are still plenty blossoms... so much hope...

But my hubby's sunflowers are beautiful...

All my plants were drowned & scorched. I still get a few grape tomatoes.

You're lucky, we have birds eating our tomatoes before they even start turning!! Glad for what we do get, since they're so yummy. I still have tomatoes coming on and I have one eggplant that's almost ready. Even after all the rain, I'm ready for a little more so I don't have to water this huge yard.

    Have a great Wednesday!!

So much depends on something you have NO control over - the weather - it highlights what an uncertain life farmers lead!

I'm still waiting for almost all my veggies. Our growing season starts later. I am currently eating the lettuces and radishes... Peas are almost ready. Beets, cucumbers, tomatoes, potatoes, melons, and watermelons are pending.
The sunflowers are pretty. They always make me smile!
