Can I Do the Work? Will I be Accepted?

While I think about the first day & all the students returning, teachers, like students, may ask ourselves:
"Can I do the work?"



Are we capable of what's going to be asked of us? What happens if we don't know all the answers? Who's going to help us out? How can we make it happen?



We set goals in our school-SMART goals-just like here at Spark, so hopefully we'll have good strategies and action steps to help us get the work done!



"Will I be accepted?"

It's tough being new, not being with our friends, eating lunch with people we don't know, going into classes where others may know more than we do-acceptance of self & others doesn't always come easy, does it?



So, as I get ready to help my students feel accepted & let them know that they can & will do the work, I also have to keep repeating the mantra:

I CAN do this!

I WILL be liked & accepted!
