September challenge, time to try something new, Low-Nickel & Alcohol diet day 8
Wednesday, September 07, 2016
After 8 days Low-Nickel and Low-alcohol diet I can now report how the week has been.
After Day 3 of the diet psoriasis had pretty well cleared from my left arm, the top of my back & my stomach area. The remaining crusty areas on my body were not getting thicker and were less painful and itchy.
On Day 4 Fathers Day, during the course of the day I consumed 6 squares of 70% cocoa chocolate(a very high Nickel food) and had about six glasses of wine.
The next day I payed the price for this as a rash re-emerged on my trunk and the areas of scale became itchy and painful again.
I resumed the low_Nickel/alcohol regime again and applied ointment to my scaly areas days 5 and 6.
Day 7 The rash had pretty well gone again and my right arm was now clear.
People were commenting on how well my skin was looking.
Currently my legs and feet are the worst with areas of flat or crusty plaque.
I have found that these are the slowest areas to heal.
Probably with avoiding alcohol esp. my weight has dropped 2.5 Kg (5.5 pounds in the seven days.
Cheers and thanks for reading my blog.
