We're in week 8 of the fall round of the BLC, with the winter round starting mid-December. The winter round will be my 5th season with the challenge, and yes, I still love it! I've met a lot of incredible people. My dragon team is more a family working together to reach our goals as a team than a group of random strangers all working alone.
This round, we chose to sign a commitment pledge. By signing the pledge, we committed ourselves to give our best effort for all 10 weeks and finish the challenge as strong as we started. This will be used again in the winter round!
The BLC runs 10 weeks and consists of 10 teams of 24 active members and unlimited honorary members per team. Every team participates in required fitness and nutrition challenges and are required to post their weekly stats reports. We compete not only in weight loss, but also cardio and strength training minutes, as well as the fitness and nutrition challenge points.
I lead the Scarlet Dragon team and we've got something special planned for the winter round! I can't wait!!! I want this round to be our best yet! And on a personal note, I want to repeat my performance from the last winter challenge. That was the first time EVER that I made it through the holiday season WITHOUT A GAIN!!! I'm determined to do this again!

We've got holiday parties and lots of treats lying around this time of year. Can you resist the temptations and still reach your goals on your own? What will you do when your co-workers bring in all those homemade goodies? Will you let it derail you or will you persevere and make it out of the holiday season without the downward spiral?
We all need help now and then, so why not now? You can meet some fantastic people and have a built-in support system to see you through the stress of the holidays! Just because it's the time of year to spend time with your family and friends doesn't mean it's time to throw healthy eating out and let your fitness fall to the wayside! It's 10 short weeks everyone! 10 weeks to a healthier, happier you! Now wouldn't that just be the best gift you can give yourself?
