After being snowed in for 3 days and nights, I think I can finally get out of my house and on the road! one lane of our little road is plowed. I am craving fresh salad, and I need other supplies (coffee filters and coffee), so I am headed off to the grocery store, driving slowly and cautiously. It is snowing lightly again.
In the BIG snowstorm (Monday - Tuesday), the old record for one day snowfall was broken; that record had stood since 1924!
Here are a few photos
For some reason, the pine and juniper trees reminded me of my Japanese painting on silk.
(of bamboo and quince blossoms). Must be the lighting and the similar amount of snow!
The snow level is indicated by the outdoor furniture; it is over the level of the seats, and almost to the seat backs!
Love the ridges on the porch! (from the pergola above)
I usually shovel my driveway myself; this time I hired a man with a snow plow to do the job. Unfortunately the guy I hired slid off the road and he wasn't able to come. Luckily my friend Tony was willing to come over and use his snow blower.
I hope you are all staying warm and dry! Enjoy winter, whatever it brings!
