Heading up north. . .
Sunday, January 01, 2017
I volunteered to go to upstate NY in the middle of winter. What was I thinking? Tomorrow I head out. I had a very nice holiday. All my children plus one of their spouses were here to celebrate Christmas and the New Year. 3 left for home today. One is left, and he heads out tomorrow evening. But, I have to leave tomorrow morning to make a connection with a ride up north. Part of my trip up north is to pick up my mother-in-law's car which she no longer drives and wants my husband to have. I'll stay with her for a month and then drive myself and my sister back home mid February.
The holidays were a time of feasting and now it's time for fasting. I did not count every calorie and carb. I did make some decent choices, but allowed myself some seasonal indiscretions. So now I have to set the holidays aside and get back to the business of health. I did remark to a family member that I find it sad that it takes such a long time to lose weight and you can gain it back sooooo easily. I have crept up about 8 pounds since my birthday and the season of succesive family birthdays and holidays commenced. Happy to still be in onderland, but just barely!!!!! I am going to use this time at my mother in laws as a rehab moment! Back to the business of fighting metabolic syndrome with the seriousness it requires.
I hope that when I land up north and get situated in a couple of days, I will get back to my Spark routine which helps with my healthy success. Until then. . . have a great start to your year and let's make 2017 our healthiest yet!
