As it think upon the day, the week, the year......I do wonder what it will bring. What will
happen in 2017, will it be good or will it be bad? I can't help but to be thankful to live where
we have all four seasons in full force, at this stage of things we are in the midst of winter,
anticipating a blossoming of spring. In spring we anticipate all the happenings of summer,
summer we anticipate the relief of fall, and in fall we look forward to the snow and the holidays.
What would we do without anticipation? That look forwardedness? I do look forward to
tomorrow, the next season, etc

But, we also need to stop, and look at where we are at. Psalm 46:10 says, "Be still and know
that I am God,..." That is such an important thought. We get so busy doing things that we
forget to just Be still and give God the time we should, to acknowledge we have a glorious
and wonderful Savior! So first we need to do just that....BE STILL........(long pause)
and KNOW THAT I AM GOD. Give God some thought besides just when we are in a moment
of panic.

Then, we need to stop and look at where we are at now. Where do we want to go? What do
we want to accomplish? And, Why? Then, how are we going to do that?

Next, though, and the one that sometimes is missing most, what about today? Not tomorrow,
not yesterday, but today. Before we know it we will be into tomorrow and today will be yesterday and wasted away. Live today like it might be your last, for one, it could be. But
let's see today for what it is, a gift, a treasure, we will never have another January 10, 2017.
Then look at who you are today, not who you will be next year or 10 years from now, but
who are you today? Over the past two weeks I have met some new Sparks friends and it
has only emphasized to me how special people are no matter how much weight they are
carrying around. Don't think that just taking the weight off is going to solve your marital
problems or your financial problems, etc. Neither is it going to be make you happy. It
definitely will help your health, and make things better for you. But start today to be happy.
Be glad for who you are, change the things you don't like about yourself, but change them
now! NOT when you lose weight, but TODAY, stop and smell the roses, TODAY, look at
who you are, like yourself. When you like yourself it is a whole lot easier to like those
