My friends H & Barbara invited me to join them skiing this afternoon; the timing was perfect! I had already talked to the insurance adjustor and the roof snow removal crew; I knew my afternoon was free to ENJOY the snow instead of stressing about it!
The freezing fog from yesterday was gone, and we had blue skies! We skied a lovely loop through the park along the river.
There was enough snow to ski over the covered bridge (to the left in the photo below).
On the other side of the river, I loved the lacy pattern of the snow on the fine branches.
I don't usually fall down -- but I got to practice getting up after Barbara plowed into me! It was funny, and of course that was the only time there were LOTS of other people around to watch us struggling to disentangle our skis!
Driving home, I noticed my neighborhood car wash (closed due to extreme cold) has posted a new sign: "Whoever is out there praying for snow -- PLEASE STOP!"
I'll close with a photo from my front yard, of my metal Apache sun dancer (yard art). He looks like he is drowning in the snow!
