Excalibur! and a beautiful ski

Sunday, January 15, 2017

Do you remember the story of King Arthur, and the sword in the stone? Well I had a perfect image of the sword Excalibur in my back yard!

I went skiing again with H & Barbara, we skied a longer loop. It was BEAUTIFUL!

Tumalo Creek was partially frozen.

H by the river. A tree dumped the snow from its branches onto her head!

Barbara and me

The reddish bark of the mature ponderosa trees contrasted nicely with the snow.

It was a glorious day skiing! Lots of other people were out enjoying the snow, but the park is so big that we never felt crowded.

Finally I will close with an image of the impressive snow piles left around my house after the roof clearing crew knocked the snow off my roof!

Clearing the roof was necessary to prevent further water damage inside my home. The damage was caused by ice dams forming on the roof. I am so grateful to the young men who did the work for me!

Now cross-country skiing could be something I could get behind... If only I weren't so cold-intolerant these days! (but great photos BTW)

But it was so wonderful to see more pictures of your winter wonderland!!! Thank you so much Alison. And I am glad things are looking better on the house front, with no more risk of further damage. Phew!

    Hi Alison..........
It looks like you had another beautiful day of skiing. We went to a wedding in December and as the Bride's Grandmother was going up the church steps, snow came off the roof and covered her. She wasn't hurt and was laughing so hard. Once everyone knew that she was okay, there was laughter all around...........it really did look funny.

Have a great time on your ski trip.

Oh Alison thank you also for the photos you posted on Saturday and today's beautiful photos. If you get snow again this year or next year, maybe you should have someone come and shovel the snow off your roof so nothing happens again do you think that would help ?
The sky is so blue where you are and Mr. Sun in North Eastern Pa. has only peeked out under grey clouds in the past week emoticon Have a good evening and a blessed week!!

Again you have lovely pictures. You should have included one of your friend after she got snow dumped on her by the branch. Glad your roof was cleared off. It made a lovely pile of snow though.
