Saturday and Sunday
Sunday, February 12, 2017
I spent most of the day inside yesterday since
there was mist and light rain. It didn't amount to
much but it seemed that housework was a priority.
The laundry is done, the den (man cave) is finally
swept and the clutter is gone. DH doesn't throw
away a newspaper or magazine and has 15 seed
catalogs laying around. He needs to make out his
orders but I hope I get to look them over before he
mails them. He needs to cut back but probably won't.
Today was church and coffee hour. DS came over
and was angry that he was asked to help with chores.
He does not want to work on Saturday or Sunday
and said his brothers should be here to help. With
NG DS in South Carolina, a day trip is out of the
question. The other DS has his own life too. He
got over it when I made sure to invite him for lunch.
He decided to eat at home but took fried bread with
him. This afternoon we asked him to help and offered
lamb chops for dinner. And he came. We have spent
more time with him this past week than we have since
the wedding in August. How sad but it is his choice.
I baked bread Saturday and have given away 4 of
the 6 loaves. Our pastor's wife was pleased to get one
and she walked past our house today while pushing
their young son in the stroller. The sunshine and
calm winds were a treat.
I have to finish my letter to DS so it can get in the
mail tomorrow. I was surprised there was no letter
this week but basic camp doesn't always allow for
Have a great Monday and thanks for stopping by.
