old and toothless

I might be considered old at 67 by most but I have most of my teeth, thank you. I'm writing about my dog and what he did today. I got him through a friend of a friend as his owner got sick and wasn't able to take care of him. Don't know much about his background but the vet estimated his age at 13-15. He has lost all but his very back molars and they look very bad. He has trouble picking up or carrying anything as his bottom jaw bone is gone. So imagine my surprise today when he brought in a dead bird from our back yard. He took a long time this morning after I let him out to take care of business. Thought he was just enjoying the warm weather. It must have been a lot of work to just pick up the bird and I'm sure he probably dropped it several times before he got to the house. I didn't appreciate the dead bird dropped on my living room floor and quickly got it in trash but I am amazed that he did it. I feel like this is a message to me to keep going no matter how often I drop it.
I have been struggling at around 260 for a while now. Got down to 256.5 but back up again to 260.5. Seems the same 4-5 pounds are dropped and then regained. I need to be like my dog, Micky, and try until I succeed. I know I can do it but it means working everyday at life style changes. Today I plan to try a Zambia class at the gym. I went back to water aerobics class once this week and will make it to 2 classes next week. I know what to do so now I need to JUST DO IT!
Have a great day and happy life my fellow SP friends.
