Day 14 - INVIGORATE Journal Prompt - What are you passionate about?

Tuesday, May 23, 2017

I hope this journal prompt is a journey for you. I want you first to explore what you have been passionate about in the past. Doesn’t matter when, just in the past. You could even go as far back as when you are a kid. Explore those passions, what were they like, what was it like to have them, what did it feel like to think about them, how did you envision your life? Why did you feel passionate about that thing? What actions did you take towards this passion? What scared you? What excited you?
Next, I want you to move into the now. Have your passions changed? What do you feel passionate about RIGHT NOW? Dive deep. Do a stream of consciousness if nothing comes up. Don’t pick up the pen. Just write. Keep writing. What do you see others doing that you think you would love? What makes you smile? What brings you joy?
I want you to stay in the now. Focus on your now. Because your now will create your future.
In the past I, have been passionate about several things. Like in high school I was passionate about marching band. I was the best saxophone player in my opinion. Even before then back in middle school I was passionate about making music. To this day I still have both passions just life has gotten in the way. It was both good the same reasons I love to make people smile, to see them happy, to take you on a trip without leaving your seat. I focused super hard on practicing, and back then I wasn’t the biggest gloater so I would just wait till you call me out and show you I was the best. My fears and excitement came from people who could prove you were better than me.
Now my passion is to see the ones around me happy and be a better person. I don’t necessarily do the same things that I use to but the same passion drive and hunger is in everything that I do. Yeah I may make a song of two. Or play the saxophone every now and then but now it’s more about being happy. I’m more into being optimistic the future is shapeable but I must adapt to the changes. I must keep the ones closest happy, I feel they will do the same for me. They say you are only as strong as the weakest link I look to everything like I am that link, and know I’m not too far from the point of doing everything at a constant 85% so I can’t be that weak. The only thing I see others do that I want to do at the current point is travel. I have a strong passion for just going and seeing new things and experiencing life. I think I live vicariously through people that are close, I see you doing good I incautiously smile. Every time I see my baby sister play in a competition, I get the chills. I see my nieces and nephews just laughing and having fun I get excited. Joy I love it…
